Hepatitis is a risk for gay men! Here are a few items worth remembering...
Hepatitis A
You know the scenario, you go to the bathroom and take a stall because you want some privacy - you hear someone in the next stall making noise that strongly indicates they are not having sex, but instead trying to clean out their bowels - after the splash, you hear the stall open, they leave and you do not hear the faucet run, you leave the bathroom and sit down and some hot little waiter brings you the food you ordered, gives you a wink and tells you he prepared it himself - just think, maybe this little hottie is the same one who didn’t wash his hands, then prepared your food, which you innocently consume. This happens to be the most common way Hepatitis A is transmitted.
On the other hand, if eating ass is one of your favorite past times - you can also risk getting Hepatitis A.
But hold on, you can continue to eat and drink without fear and lick all the booty you want - there is a vaccination and it’s only two shots taken within three months - it lasts forever and you now have the Hepatitis A antibody, which means you are protected from ever getting Hepatitis A - so keep eating, drinking and licking all the booty you want!!!
If you haven’t had a HEP A test - make sure you ask the MD during a routine STD screening or ask your private medical provider to order a blood test.
Hepatitis B
This is the unprotected sex Hepatitis - it’s about 100 times easier to transmit than HIV through unprotected sex, but it doesn’t stop there. Yup - that’s right. If your ass comes into contact with someone’s cum who is active with HEP B, you can be infected.
If you shoot Meth, Heroin or whatever your drug of choice happens to be, and strongly believe in sharing - Hepatitis B could be the next virus waiting to dive into your bloodstream - and when I say sharing, I mean sharing. Sharing needles, cookers, ties and cottons as Hepatitis B thrives in dry blood. If you feel your artistic side is coming out and you have this strong desire to give someone a home grown tattoo, and the needle or ink that you are going to use, has been used before, you are at risk for getting the Hepatitis B virus.
